Ryanair's main German airport is at Frankfurt-Hahn which is only a 25 minute drive from Bernkastel.

Like most low cost airlines the initial low price gains some extras before you actually pay for your flights. Here are some ways you can minimise these extra costs:-

* Luggage - Ryanair charge GBP7.00 per item of 'hold' luggage checked in,
     so if you can share a suitcase it is cheaper.

* Hand luggage - Ryanair do not charge for this and allow a generous 10kg
     limit per person and a hand luggage size limit of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm, which
     may be adequate for a long weekend break.

* Priority Boarding - If you do NOT have hold luggage to book in you can
     have priority boarding which means you're first to board the plane - great for
     families. This costs GBP4 each though and is the default option so if you
     don't want it you need to look for the remove link.

* Insurance - This is automatically included so if you don't want it you need to
     remove it, but of course it is sensible to have some.

* Ryanair have a range of fees depending on how you pay, if you can pay by
     Visa Electron and some other cards it's FREE!
